Mat Paskins

Mat Paskins is a post-doctoral researcher at Aberystwyth University on the ‘Unsettling Scientific Stories‘ project. Matt completed his PhD in UCL’s Department for Science & Technology Studies. His main research interest is in the connections between useful knowledge and material properties in Britain during the long eighteenth century: that means grass seeds, tree accounts, potash, iron sand and varnish trees. He has previously held roles as the Community Manager for the Open University/AHRC “Commodity Histories” project and the Consultant Historian for the Tree Council’s “Hedgerow Harvest” oral history project.
